⏲️3 Simple Tips to Declutter Your Home in 5 Minutes or Less...

Hey Reader!

It's Sandy and I'm keeping my promise to send you some tips for decluttering your home!

Every week I share tips on Facebook and Instagram that will help you get you home and your life organized.

In this email I wanted to pass along 3 tips on how to declutter your home in 5 minutes a day that really works to help you take control of clutter in your home. A little every day! ⏲️

Tip #1 - 🎯 Have a PLAN for how you will use the 5 minutes. You can use the list linked below or create your own.

If you are just tidying up, then you can rotate a room per day of the week. If you have one "problem" room, then keep working on that room every day until you are finished.

Get your supplies ready!

  • Keep a box ready at all times for donations. You'll add to this box every day. When it's full (or once a week), you take it to your favorite donation site.
  • Gather 3 bags for sorting items to discard. I suggest color coordinating the bags so I don't get them mixed up. You can choose any color scheme you want, but be consistent. You don't want to donate trash. πŸ˜‚
    • Black bag - Trash
    • White bag - Donate
    • Clear bag - Recycle
  • Set a timer for 5 mintues.
  • Set a GOAL of 20 items a day to be decluttered.

Tip #2 - Get the family involved.

  • πŸ’΅ Money talks! You can incentivize the effort by paying 1 penny for each item gathered or a quarter every day the family gathers all 20.
  • πŸ…Competition. Keep track of who collects the most items each day and pick a winner each week that gets a special treat like extra minutes playing games or choosing their favorite meal for dinner.

Tip #3 - 🏁 Finish what you start. 🏁

Clutter forms fastest when you stop in the middle of a task you are working on. You think, I'll get back to finish this later. Before you know it, a week has passed and the stuff is just where you left it. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Make a promise on this while you're on this decluttering mission to finish the task you start which means bags the 3 bags above are handled - trash to the trash can, donate to the donate box and recycling to the recycle bin!

Winter Reset Week 5 - Pantry

Dear Reader, I don't know about you, but it felt SO good to put away my crockpot this past week and make room on my kitchen counter for a basket of fresh fruits and vegetables! 🍎πŸ₯¦ I hope you're already enjoying your spring-ready cooking space! 🌷 Spring is here, and that means big changes in what we eat. Instead of heavy soups and comfort foods, I'm excited for lighter, fresher meals that match the season. Fresh veggies are replacing root vegetables in my kitchen, and I'm planning more...

Winter Reset Week 4 - Kitchen

Dear Reader, It's official - Spring is here! 🌷🌸 The days are getting longer, temperatures are warming up, and there's pollen EVERYWHERE (achoo! 🀧). While my car may be coated in yellow dust, I can't help but feel excited about the seasonal shift. I'm particularly looking forward to growing a small vegetable garden this year. There's something magical about that first homegrown cucumber or cherry tomato that signals spring has truly arrived! 🌱 This seasonal shift doesn't just change what's...

Week 3

Dear Reader, Have you noticed? Spring is definitely making its presence known! 🌼 The daffodils are popping up, those April showers are starting early, and let's not forget the yellow dusting of pollen covering EVERYTHING. (My gray car looks like it's been spray-painted yellow overnight! 🀧) With all these spring elements coming our way, your home's entryway is about to become ground zero for muddy shoes, drippy umbrellas, and yes - pollen-covered jackets. Did you know that the state of your...
